judo
Judo is an exciting, dynamic Japanese martial art and sport. Rather than punching and kicking, Judo involves learning how to throw, trip, and take down your opponent to the mat by using technique as opposed to brute force. For this reason the word JUDO is often defined as the "The Gentle Way." Judo improves strength, balance, coordination, physical and mental toughness. Students interested in Judo must be comfortable with close physical contact with a partner to practice technique drills. Prior to doing any Judo techniques, students will learn how to fall properly in multiple directions. Basic gymnastic movements like tumbling and rolling will be a regular part of class. While Judo is a lot of fun, students must remember that Judo is a one-on-one combat Martial Art. Teamwork, camaraderie, focus and sense of humor are emphasized in class. For safety reasons Mr. Andrew will determine if the student has the physical development and emotional maturity for Judo.
Tae Kwon Do is the most popular Martial Arts in the world.
It is sometimes referred to as Korean Karate.
